Is PRF the same as PRP?

Not exactly. Both platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) are derived from your own blood, but they are processed differently. PRF forms a fibrin network that can retain platelets and growth factors, allowing them to be released gradually. Neither treatment guarantees a particular cosmetic result.

How many PRF treatments will I need?

Many aesthetic protocols recommend an initial series of approximately 3 treatments, spaced 4–6 weeks apart. The number of sessions depends on your under-eye concerns, skin condition, and response to treatment. Maintenance treatments may be recommended.

How long does it take to see results from PRF under eye injections?

PRF is not an instant fix. Some patients begin noticing improvements in skin appearance within several weeks, with changes potentially continuing over the following months. Results are gradual, and some patients experience minimal improvement.

How long do PRF under eye results last?

Results vary depending on age, skin quality, lifestyle, and individual response. Improvements may persist for several months, but there is no established duration that applies to everyone. Periodic maintenance treatments may help support your results.

Can PRF help with dark circles under my eyes?

Possibly! PRF may improve the appearance of certain dark circles, particularly when thin skin contributes to their visibility. However, dark circles can also result from genetics, pigmentation, allergies, blood vessels, or facial anatomy. PRF may not address all of these causes.

Is PRF better than under eye filler?

For patients experiencing fine lines and crepey skin, PRF may be a suitable option. For significant hollowness, other treatments may be more appropriate. Under-eye filler also carries specific risks and isn't right for everyone.

Does PRF under eye treatment hurt?

Most patients tolerate the treatment with manageable discomfort. A topical numbing cream may be used to improve comfort. You may experience brief pressure or pinching during the injections.

Is there downtime after PRF under eye injections?

Mild swelling, tenderness, redness, and bruising are common. Swelling may be most noticeable during the first 24–72 hours, while bruising can last longer.

Because the under-eye area is delicate, recovery varies. Your injector will provide individualized aftercare instructions.

Is PRF safe for the under-eye area?

PRF is prepared from your own blood, which reduces concerns about allergic reactions to foreign filler materials.
